Report from Business Week Magazine
November, 2008
Private College costs are again on the rise. According to a
College Board report released on Oct. 29, the average published cost
of annual tuition and fees at private four-year colleges are:
$25,143, up 5.9% from last year. That equates to $100,572 over four
years.

Part of the reason for this exorbitant expense which prevents many
from ever attending college is the cost of government approved
accreditation organizations for accreditation of secular colleges
and universities. This expense must be passed on in the form of high
tuitions to their students. Our seminary expenses are a fraction of
many public and private colleges and universities, because we refuse
to conform to the financial limitations imposed by regional,
national or other forms of government approved accreditation.
Furthermore, at UGCS, we adhere to a high level of educational
quality without governmental influence or oversight. As
representatives of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have a major
responsibility to maintain and provide the highest standards in
Christian education.
The following quote from the United States Department of Education.
"It should be noted that some institutions have chosen not to
participate in the federal student aid program and therefore do not
have to be approved by an accrediting agency recognized by the
Department. While these institutions do not appear on the
Department's list, they may be legitimate schools.
This quote from the former executive director of the Association for
Biblical Higher Education (an accrediting agency recognized by the
United States Department of Education), stated as follows: "There
are hundreds of Bible Colleges and Seminaries in the United States
and Canada that are offering good solid theological training, yet
they are not accredited.
